Real Weddings
Matt & Greg
A beautifully sunny June wedding, filled with joy, the most stunning of castle backdrops and two fabulous blue glitter suits for the grooms.
Starting the Celebrations
Our beautiful couple, Matt and Greg, decided to start the celebrations early with a pre-wedding meet up of friends and family. Making the most of Hampton Court Castle’s incredible setting, the couple welcomed their guests to join them for games on our South Lawn before the ceremony. There was a beautifully relaxed vibe as everyone got stuck into traditional garden games including croquet, badminton and giant Jenga, in the sunshine.
To make the day even more unforgettable, we helped arrange a falconry experience for the grooms. Set against the grand backdrop of the Castle, it was the perfect way to kick off a very special day.
The Grooms’ Style
With exclusive use of the Castle and accommodation, Matt, Greg and their guests were able to head back to their rooms to get dressed for the main event. Our grooms did not disappoint, opting for the most incredible matching blue glitter tux jackets, paired with pink bowties.
The rest of the wedding party coordinated in stylish blue suits, pink ties and pocket handkerchiefs, and a floor-length pink chiffon dress for the bridesmaid.
A Romantic Outdoor Ceremony
Matt and Greg chose to make the most of their summer wedding with an outdoor ceremony in Hampton Court Castle’s Central Courtyard. Surrounded by the historic Castle walls and with breath-taking views down the drive to the Gatehouse, it was the perfect wow-factor setting for our couple to exchange their vows.
While our alfresco ceremony space does all the talking, our grooms added a personal touch with two bold, oversized floral displays to frame the top of the aisle, with smaller displays lining the walk up the aisle. Reflecting the couple’s wedding colour scheme, the vibrant displays featured flowers in shades of blue, pink and white, with voluminous foliage adding texture and drama.
Styling their Castle Wedding
With ornate chandeliers and flooded with natural light, our grand Ballroom made an elegant setting for Matt and Greg’s wedding breakfast. Crisp white table linen and sparkling glassware set a luxurious tone, while elevated floral displays of roses, hydrangeas, peonies and greenery added a romantic feel.
The couple’s four-tiered wedding cake echoed this wedding’s chic, glamorous style. The white and gold cake, complete with glitter tier, was finished with real flowers to tie in with the day’s colour scheme.
The Couple Shots
While their guests were enjoying drinks and canapés and taking in the views from our South Lawn, Matt and Greg headed to our neighbouring gardens with their photographer, Dean Jones, to capture some romantic couple shots.
Hampton Court Castle’s gorgeous gardens paired with June’s golden hour glow created the most unique and beautiful photo opportunities for our couple. From the idyllic Rose Garden to the ancient Wisteria Arch, Matt and Greg explored the gardens with their photographer catching each special moment.
A Wow-Factor Evening Reception
A quick outfit change and our grooms were ready to get the party started. With the Ballroom now transformed for the evening reception, Matt, Greg and their guests hit the dance floor.
After dancing the night away, the couple finished the evening in style with a fabulous sparkler send-off, followed by a gorgeous firework display in the Castle grounds. The perfect end to an unforgettable wedding.
